Belly Yoga Curriculum
History
Belly Yoga is a modern fusion of two ancient practices: yoga and belly dance. Both of these traditions have deep roots in the ancient world, dating back thousands of years, but Belly Yoga brings them together to create a holistic, empowering form of movement that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Philosophy
Belly Yoga is rooted in the belief that movement is a powerful tool for healing, self-expression, and connection. It blends the ancient traditions of yoga and belly dance, drawing from their shared focus on mind-body awareness, feminine energy, and spiritual alignment.
7 Fundamentals of Belly Dance
Master core belly dance movements with focused lower and upper body isolations, including the hips, torso, arms, and head, and seamlessly integrate them into your yoga practice for a fluid, expressive flow.
Fundamentals of Yoga Poses
Focusing on fundamentals of yoga involve synchronizing breath with movement to create a balanced, mindful practice. Emphasizing physical postures (asanas) that build strength, flexibility, and body awareness, while cultivating mental focus and inner calm.
Anatomy
In this specialized module, we explore the anatomy and biomechanics behind Belly Yoga, focusing on how the body moves and functions in both yoga postures and belly dance isolations. Understanding the anatomical structures involved in these movements is key to safely and effectively guiding your students through classes.
Female Energy Activation
Belly Yoga celebrates the feminine through fluid, graceful movements that awaken creativity, sensuality, and self-empowerment. By honoring the sacred connection between body and spirit, it helps practitioners embrace their inner strength and grace.
